A Night at the Gallery

Role: Lead Designer | Platform: PC | Engine: Unity 4 | Duration: 4 weeks | Team Size: 6 people

Description: A Night at the Gallery was my pitch for a capstone project during my graduate degree. It is a competitive multiplayer game that pits a team of thieves trying to steal an art piece from a gallery against a team of guards trying to protect it. The thieves must use stealth and an arsenal of tools to evaded the guards and escape with their target art pieces. The guards use their own tools to patrol the gallery and apprehend the thieves before they can steal the art pieces. The catch is that while the thieves are after a particular art piece, the guards don’t know which one. The project consisted of a pitch document, two pitch presentations, and a two-week prototype.

My Achievements:

  • Designed the original concept and gameplay, with the constraint of not using any health or hit-points systems
  • Prepared and presented a 5 minute pitch that was among 13 of 30 original pitches chosen, then presented a 15 minute pitch and demo of the prototype
  • Lead a team to rapidly prototype the concept into a 2v2 networked multiplayer experience that showcased the core gameplay
